INDYCAR DEBUT
In 2024, Toby made his NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut with Dale Coyne Racing, stepping into the No.51 Honda at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. It was a standout first appearance at the top level of American Open-wheel racing, with Toby climbing from 24th on the grid to finish 13th, Dale Coyne’s best results of a very difficult season for the team. His drive was noted as being the drive of the season and driver of the day by many INDYCAR commentators and influential voices.
Following his debut, Toby went on to make three INDYCAR starts during the 2024 season with Dale Coyne Racing, gaining a combined 19 positions across Mid Ohio, Toronto and Portland. He went on to be retained by Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing as their Reserve and Development driver in 2025 and in 2026 signed as Reserve and Development driver for AJ Foyt Racing.

2019-2023
ROAD TO INDY
In 2019 Toby was signed by BN Racing / Team Pelfrey for an entire season of Indy Lights. He made an immediate impression during his inaugural race at St Petersburg, with two podiums showcasing his exceptional talent and adaptability. As the season progressed, Toby delivered multiple podiums and fastest laps. With a new team name HMD Motorsport / Team Pelfrey, it was at the Grand Prix of Portland that Toby secured his first Indy Lights win, giving HMD Motorsports their maiden victory. As the season drew to an end, Toby had taken 1 race win, 7 podiums and 1 fastest lap. He secured 3rd in the championship during this rookie year and marked himself as an exciting future NTT Indycar potential.
Returning to the grid in 2021 with Juncos Racing for a partial season of 13 races, Toby returned to the podium 3 times and delivered 1 fastest lap.
In 2023, after claiming the inaugural Radical World Championship title, Toby reunited with HMD Motorsports for a three-race program of Indy NXT by Firestone (Formally Indy Lights) taking a podium at Barber Motorsport after a one-year hiatus.
Toby also performed an NTT Indycar test for Rahal Letterman and Lanigan Racing
