Sowery Leads at Road America as Crowdstrike Racing Secure Podium

Toby Sowery helped CrowdStrike Racing by APR secure another important IMSA podium at Road America, taking the #04 ORECA 07-Gibson into the LMP2 lead during a dramatic six-hour Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix.

Returning to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship alongside George Kurtz and Alex Quinn, Sowery played a key role in a strong team performance at one of North America’s most demanding circuits.

Starting fifth in class, the #04 remained in contention through an incident-filled opening half of the race as multiple cautions and changing strategies repeatedly reshuffled the LMP2 field.

After taking over from Kurtz, Sowery moved to the front of the race and led LMP2 around the halfway point, putting CrowdStrike Racing by APR firmly in contention for victory.

With the six-hour race continuing to evolve through further cautions, traffic and strategy calls, Quinn took over for the closing stages and brought the #04 home second in class.

The result delivered another podium for Sowery and CrowdStrike Racing by APR following their second-place finish at Watkins Glen earlier this summer and strengthened an impressive 2026 campaign that began with victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

It also ensured the #04 retained the lead of the IMSA LMP2 championship heading into the final stages of the season and now leads the Michelin Endurance Challenge too.

Road America continued a standout year in endurance racing for Sowery, combining front-running IMSA performances with success on some of the biggest stages in international sportscar racing.

Toby Sowery:
“This was my first race in an LMP2 at Road America. We were right in the fight throughout the race and getting the car into the lead during my stint was obviously a good feeling.

“It was another really strong team result. George and Alex did a great job, the crew executed well through a pretty chaotic race and P2 gives the #04 another important result. Naturally you always want the win when you’ve been leading, but it’s another podium and another strong weekend for the team.”
